Eid al-Fitr is expected on Tuesday, 9 March 2027 (1 Shawwal 1448 AH), if Ramadan completes 29 days. It is confirmed once the Shawwal crescent is sighted.

Dates are astronomical estimates (Umm al-Qura calendar) and may differ by one day depending on moon sighting and your country's official announcement.

Sunnahs of Eid

  • Take a bath, wear perfume and your best clothes.
  • Eat a few dates before going to the Eid prayer.
  • Recite takbir from sunset on the last day of Ramadan until the Eid prayer.
  • Go to the prayer by one road and return by another.
  • Greet one another: Taqabbal Allahu minna wa minkum.
